Call for Proposals: P–12 Education Summit

The Office of School Partnerships is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the 2026 P–12 Education Summit. The Summit celebrates and advances collaborative partnerships among Indiana University, P–12 school communities, and P–12 connected industry leaders to strengthen student programming, college and career pipelines, and statewide talent development.

IU faculty and staff invited 

We invite IU faculty and staff from all campuses to submit a proposal to lead a concurrent session that highlights established practices or initiatives that support P–12 pressing needs, college and career exploration, and talent preparation for youth.

Proposal requirements

Presenters are invited to propose a 45-minute concurrent session. A limited number of proposals will be selected due to availability of time and space.

Proposals should include the following:

  • Title of session (maximum 10 words)
  • Name, title and email address of presenter(s)
  • Session format: presentation or panel
  • Short description for printed program (50–100 words)
  • Long description for the website (maximum 250 words)
  • Relevance of the proposals to the theme(s) selected
  • Description of the practice, program or initiative
  • Explanation of your collaboration with P–12 school partner(s), student participants, community, government organization, or P–12 connected industry leaders
Partnerships and initiatives addressing P–12 pressing needs
  • Teacher professional development
  • Chronic absenteeism
  • Family engagement
  • Supporting multilingual learners
College and career awareness, exploration, and readiness
  • Career coaching framework and supports
  • Partnerships and intermediaries
  • Advising and support services for high school students
Partnerships in support of the new high school diploma and readiness seals
  • Work-based learning
  • Credentials of value, e.g., Indiana College Core for pre-matriculated students
  • Dual credit or dual enrollment
Partnerships and processes to strengthen or align university curriculum
  • Educator preparation programs: all content areas
  • Higher education curriculum aligned to high school courses and diploma requirements
Innovative admissions and student services
  • Seamless, pre-admissions, or direct admissions
  • Student advising and enrollment
Youth-serving program partnerships
  • Programs and camps
  • Coalitions
P–12 talent pipeline innovation
  • Preparation/talent development programs in education professions
  • Registered apprenticeship and/or pre-apprenticeship programs
  • High school pathway programs
  • Pathways to four-year degree programs

Selection process

Proposals will be scored on these criteria:

Enacted programThe proposal describes an established practice or program with a clearly defined implementation timeline and operational history.
Evidence of impactThe submission provides tangible data or qualitative evidence that demonstrates the effectiveness and outcomes of the initiative.
P–12 collaborationThe presentation team includes at least one active P–12 school partnerr as a co-presenter, reflecting a true collaborative effort and P–12 voice.
Student engagementThe proposal intentionally incorporates IU or P–12 student participation.
Community synergyThe practice or program demonstrates significant collaboration or coalitions with youth advocacy groups, community-based organizations, government institutions, or P–12 connected industry leaders and coalitions.

Submission deadlines

  • Call for proposals window opens March 3, 2026
  • Call for proposals window closes May 31, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance emailed July 24, 2026
  • Presenter confirmation and full session details required by August 3, 2026
  • Bio and presentation materials due by September 4, 2026
