Grades 6-8
In this course, you will learn the skills necessary to critically evaluate scientific claims, ask questions to clarify and critique, conduct scientific investigations, and engage in the engineering process. Each module will explore different skills that you need to answer the question: "How do we learn about our world?"
By completing this course, you will be able to:
- Ask and respond to clarifying and critical thinking questions.
- Critically evaluate a variety of forms of information for claims that are supported by evidence.
- Plan and carry out scientific investigations.
- Use mathematical thinking to analyze and interpret data.
- Engage in argument supported by evidence.
- Develop and use models.
- Construct explanations and design solutions to problems (engineering).
