Course Descriptions and Daily Agenda

Kids College students "enroll" in classes featuring themes and disciplines developed by local faculty and staff in partnership with community members. This year's curriculum features a focus on water-themed projects with the goal of protecting and improving the local community.

  • Performing Arts—Use theatre, dance, and music to raise awareness about water quality in Gary.
  • Medical Sciences—Explore the risk to human health posed by water pollution.
  • Media & Communications—Interview city officials, environmental groups, and water safety officials for a podcast, radio, or Youtube show.
  • Engineering, Robotics, and Coding—Design and propose a way to make Gary’s water safe.
  • Visual Arts—Create art to raise awareness about water quality in Gary.

Make a difference

We have a variety of opportunities for IUNW faculty, staff, and students to get involved in Kids College. Making a meaningful connection to IUNW relies upon building relationships, and Kids College is a great place for you to start!

To enhance our Kids College teaching staff, we invite IUNW students and alumni who might be willing to share their experiences navigating the college-going process. Faculty and staff are encouraged to talk to students about how their teaching and research connects to the local community or how they discovered their passion for education.

Or, join the Kids College staff by becoming a program assistant or a guest lecturer!
