Kids College is a one- or two-week summer day camp for students going into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. It’s offered by Indiana University and is open to all middle school students. The camp is especially focused on welcoming and supporting students who might be the first in their family to go to college or are likely to qualify for the 21st Century Scholars program.
At Kids College, students will build confidence, learn more about who they are as learners, and explore future college and career paths. They’ll take part in fun, hands-on activities that help them see how college can help them reach their goals. The camp helps students understand how to join and succeed in programs like 21st Century Scholars—and how to take pride in their place in school, college, and the world.
Kids College is made possible through generous funding from the Lilly Endowment's Indiana Youth Programs on Campus Initiative.
As part of their experience, students will participate in a successful college access and readiness curriculum called Middle School Crew developed by Community & School Partnerships at IU, which focuses on preparing eligible students to complete the 21st Century Scholarship application as well as fulfill the program’s requirements in middle and high school.
