Partnerships

Partner with us to change the K-12 landscape

Through our schools of education that train future teachers, principals, and administrators, to our faculty who discover innovative pedagogical techniques, and our online high school that leads the way on student learning in the digital space, we have much to offer as a partner to you. We are here to serve as a resource, a capacity builder, a thought-partner, and an innovator. Like you, our faculty and staff are deeply connected to the communities they live in, and want to be good partners in finding solutions to communities' most pressing needs.

Equipping educators and administrators to handle pressing issues

We work directly with Hoosier educators to explore their greatest challenges and implement the latest innovations related to K-12 education. IU is deeply committed to racial justice and focuses on equity and inclusion in the K-12 ecosystem.

Advocate for equity and access in education

Equitable access to high-quality education is fundamental to our democracy and society. To increases access to a well-rounded education, we partnered with the Indiana Department of Education to launch the Well-Rounded Course Access (WRCA) program. This network of schools across the state collaborates to build 90 courses taught by Indiana teachers that are open to any Hoosier student. We advocate for equity, access, and inclusion in education through initiatives like Charting the Future, which leverages data, conducts policy research, develops resources, and brings together decision-makers, legislators, and policy-makers to support these efforts.

Support and preparation for college and careers

Preparing for college or a career can be daunting for students and their families. We partner with IU student mentors and organizations like the Center for Leadership Development and La Plaza to meet students where they are and ensure they get the help they need to complete the FAFSA, find scholarship opportunities, and assist in career interest exploration. To reduce the costs of attending college, IU's Advanced College Project course are aligned with the Indiana College Core and free to students in the state of Indiana.

Student mentorship programs

There are many mutually beneficial mentorship programs for IU students to support Hoosier teachers and their students both inside and outside of the classroom space. Teachers can expand the capacity to educate their students, IU students receive an applied learning experience.

Establish connections, contacts, and projects

Each IU campus has a strategy for supporting relationships and engaging the community backed by research and best practices for local schools. This work is documented system-wide in Collaboratory, which allows us to adopt a strategic approach to new partnerships.

Summer programs and supplemental learning

There are many ways motivated students can explore their curiosities, like enrolling in programs like Girl STEM Institute, Summer Experience in Sustainability and the Environment by taking classes at an IU campus through programs like SPAN or College Now.
